Hi there!
10 years ago the two major scientific magazines Nature and Science published the results from the human genome sequencing project. nearly 3 billion so called base pairs was sequenced and most of the researchers thought that now will we solve the questions regarding disease occurence etc. So what has happened 10 years post genome project? One thing is sure! the major advancements that has been made is primarily within the technological area. Sadly, not much progress has been made regarding the causes and/or the occurence of common diseases such as cancer, Cardio vascular disease, psychiatric disorders etc. One explanation is of course that one needs to consider the environment too!!! What do we eat, do we excercise?, are we exposed to bad substances? So we really need to start combining things in order to get the head out of the sand.
